I'm Emery
Salt & Sol began with a simple belief: photographs should feel like something you can step back into.
I created this space for people who care deeply about the things they're building, the people they're loving, and the seasons they're living through—but don't necessarily love being in front of a camera.
I know that photographs matter long after the session is over.
They're how you remember the beginning of a business.
The shape of a growing family.
The little details of a wedding day.
The version of yourself you were in that particular season.
That's what I want to preserve.
Your story is already worth noticing
You don't need to be louder, trendier, or more polished to deserve beautiful photographs.
You don't need a perfect business.
You don't need to know how to pose.
You don't need to perform some heightened version of yourself for the camera.
You simply need space to be present.
My job is to pay attention—to the details, the movement, the personality, and the moments that make your story yours—and turn them into photographs that feel honest, intentional, and lasting.

During the session, I'll guide you when you need it and step back when the moment is better left alone.

It's to make the experience feel comfortable enough that the photographs can feel like you.

A few things worth knowing
I love photographs with a little movement in them.
I'm drawn to thoughtful details, natural light, lived-in spaces, and the moments that happen just outside the obvious frame.
I'd rather give you something that feels timeless than something that simply feels trendy.
And yes, I'll probably remind you that you are doing just fine when you tell me you have no idea what you're doing in front of the camera.
